Church Membership
Our desire is that every person 16 years of age and older who calls King's Community Church his/her home will become a member of our church.
What does that mean? It means that we want to recognize you as a part of our immediate family. We want you to feel like you can take off your coat and stay awhile. We want you to be part of the decisions we make as a community and part of the way we reach out to our neighbours.
We take our stance on membership from the biblical precedent. First, the whole biblical narrative is written to a people who live in community. Belonging to the people of God is an important aspect of our identity. Your baptism is a symbol of this identification with Christ and his body, the church. But we also see in the New Testament the idea that church consists of a group of people who seek to take care of one another and serve the neighbourhood around them. There is a local and particular component to church. Membership in a local church is the way we experience our membership in the larger Body of Christ.
If you call Kings Community Church your home church and have not yet become a member, talk to one of the pastors and sign up for our next membership lunch.
