Small Groups
Our lives in Oakville are busy. Our jobs, schedules and families are demanding. It can be hard to share life with people when our day to day paths don't cross. But we believe that offering and receiving hospitality is one of the central aspects of our faith. We simply can't do this life alone. We were designed to do it with others.
Small groups are our way of gathering together during the week. They usually happen in people's living rooms or crowded around someone's kitchen table. There is usually food. There is time for conversations that extend beyond small talk and time for prayer. There is time for reading the bible together and discussing what it means. There is time for questions. Time for ideas. Time for venting. Time for listening.
One of the unique and beautiful things about church is that strangers become family - not just in theory, but in practice too. We are passionate about small groups because we take this seriously in an increasingly disconnected world.

How it works
We want there to be a measure of trust and accountability in small groups. For that reason, we ask people to sign up for a small group on a night that works for them, or in an area close to where they live, and then stick with it for the year. Groups usually meet once a week in the evening and are led by a couple of people. The leaders may host the small group, but often someone else in the group takes that on. For a list of small groups, nights and leaders send an email to one of our pastoral staff.
